The gecko from this locality, Mount Humboldt in the central southern island, is among the largest of mainland localities. They are virtually patternless, with "phantom" bars along the sides. Various color phases can be seen, but this locality is never black.

This outstanding locality is still rare in the hobby.

To date, the largest captive animal from this locale is 480 grams with variable background coloration.
