Rhacodactylus leachianus : GORO (GT: Grande Terre)

Nevertheless being in collections ince late nineties, Goro is the latest locality to be revealed to the general herpetoculture. These Ieachianus come from the area adjacent the village of Goro in the northern part of Grande Terre, not far from Poindimie. A very distinct looking locality, Gorn animals are long and lean with a very dark brown background, in same case almost black. A melanistic form exists and this is visible upon hatching.

All juveniles and most adults display a black dorsal stripe, making this locality unique. Crisp white blotches are typical along the sides.
