Mobile vs Desktop Experience

I’ve been switching between my laptop and phone a lot recently, and the difference in how they feel is pretty noticeable. On my computer I usually sit down with a clear purpose, like work or watching something specific. But on my phone, it’s more random — I just open apps for a minute here and there without planning to. It almost feels like two completely different ways of using technology. Do you think it’s just about convenience, or is there something deeper behind why mobile feels so different?

I’ve thought about that too, and I don’t think it’s only convenience. It’s more about how and when we use each device. With phones, everything happens in small moments — waiting in line, taking a break, even walking somewhere. That changes the whole experience. I read a good breakdown of this here: https://www.oxpoll.com/blog/why-mobile-sessions-feel-different-from-every-other-digital-routine/ and it made me realize how much context matters. Mobile apps are built for quick interactions, while desktop platforms expect longer focus. Once you notice that, it explains why they feel so different.
